About this study

About this study

Sourcetext is a quiet, ongoing study of the original languages behind the Bible — Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Not a commentary. Not a polemic. A reading companion.

Every translation is also an interpretation. A single English word often stands in for many different Hebrew or Greek terms, and a single Hebrew or Greek word often carries layers that English cannot hold in one breath.

This project gathers those words slowly, one at a time, and tries to read them again with care — closer to how the first hearers might have heard them.

·

What this is

A reading practice. A small library of word studies. An invitation to slow down and notice what the original carries.

·

What this is not

Not a claim that English Bibles are wrong. Not a hidden-knowledge club. Not anti-translation. Translations are gifts; this is a way to read them with more depth.
